Srinagar, June 28: The meteorological department official told the news service gns that the Mercury has maintained and upward arc across Jammu and Kashmir with its summer capital Srinagar recording the Seasons hottest day on Tuesday at 33.2 degree Celsius
It is the third highest temperature in the last 12 years in Srinagar as the temperature rises 2.6°c above normal level today. In June the highest temperature in last 12 years was 35° C that was recorded in 2018 on June 3rd. The highest ever temperature recorded in June was 37.8 degree Celsius which was recorded in 1978 on June 29th.

Apart from Srinagar recorded Qazigund recorded maximum of 32 degree Celsius but the previous day it recorded 32.4 degree Celsius.

Gulmarg also recorded a maximum of 23.2°C against 22.8°C on the previous, the official said. While 21.6°C is normal for the world famous skiing resort during this time of the season, the official said that the temperature was 1.6°C above normal for the famous place in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.


Mainly dry weather has been forecast over Jammu and Kashmir in the next 24 hours. Isolated to scattered light rains and thundershowers have been predicted by the MeT office in subsequent 48 hours.
